Ear piercings are such a beautiful way to express your style – whether it’s your child’s first lobe piercing or finally treating yourself to that curated ear you’ve been dreaming of.

Here’s your complete guide to ear piercings, healing times and what to expect.

Children’s Lobe Piercing

• Available from age 6
• Only carried out with parental consent
• A gentle, reassuring experience in a calm private clinic space
• Using sterile, medical-grade jewellery
• Bravery certificates and sweeties provided

Healing time:

• Initial healing: minimum of 8 weeks
• Full healing: up to 12 weeks

Jewellery should stay in for 12 months to prevent closure.

It’s fine to take the earrings out for an hour or two for sports, but during the first year the earrings should stay in as much as possible.

Adult Ear Piercing

Lobes – Healing: 8 weeks minimum | 12 weeks full

Helix (outer cartilage) – Healing: 3–6 months | up to a year

Forward Helix – Healing: 3–6 months | up to a year

Conch (centre of the ear) – Healing: 3–6 months | up to a year

Tragus – Healing: 3–6 months | up to a year

Daith – Healing: 4–9 months | up to a year

Rook – Healing: 6–9 months | up to a year

Flat – Healing: 3–6 months | up to a year

Every ear is different…

…So healing times can vary – but with correct aftercare, your piercing should heal beautifully. And of course I’m here to help for any awkward moments along the way.

Aftercare – the secret to perfect healing

• Clean twice daily with sterile saline solution for 4 weeks
• Avoid twisting or touching
• Keep hair, makeup and skincare products away from the area
• Avoid sleeping directly on new piercings
• No swimming in pools, lakes or hot tubs during the first 2 weeks
