Body Sculpting / Fat Reduction

Body sculpting / fat reduction is a nonsurgical procedure used to remove or reduce pockets of stubborn fat.

Various nonsurgical body sculpting techniques are available to help you shape and contour your body.

Cryolipolysis

The term ‘Cryolipolysis’ is derived from two merged words. “Cryogenic” which means to freeze and “Lipolysis” which means the breakdown of lipids, which involves hydrolysis of triglycerides into glycerol and free fatty acids. In simple terms this means the breakdown and removal of fat cells. This is why this treatment is often called “Fat Freezing”.

Cryolipolysis reduces the fat thickness in the immediate area that is treated rather than producing overall weight loss. Cryolipolysis does not seem to be as effective in obese people, though it may simply be harder to observe the effects. It’s worth noting that this treatment reduces the fat thickness in people who have a stable weight.

How does it work?

Cryolipolysis uses controlled cooling to target and freeze a portion of the fat cells under the skin. In the weeks that follow the treatment, the body naturally begins to process the fat cells that were frozen during treatment and removes them from the treatment site, thereby positively affecting the appearance of the treated area.

The treatment has minimal discomfort. Clinical trials have shown that Cryolipolysis treatments to be effective on between 20%-40% of the fat cells in the treated area in just one session. Fat cells are permanently destroyed. Cryolipolysis offers a viable alternative to liposuction. It triggers a process called apoptosis to cause a natural cell death providing the targeted destruction of unwanted fat cells. It is a safe and effective treatment with no down time.

Cryolipolysis takes around half an hour, and you can return to normal activities straight away.

To carry out the procedure, your practitioner attaches suction paddle applicators to the area to be treated. The paddles cryogenically freezes the subcutaneous fat cells underneath the skin. The cold damages the membranes of the fat cells, so that they start to break down and perish. Your body then absorbs the dead cells via the lymphatic system where it is then drained. The fat deposits are changed into glycerol and surplus fatty acids. Glycerol is then reused by the body whilst the surplus fatty acids travel to the liver and are excreted as waste.

Clients normally see changes in 2-6 weeks after their treatment and will experience the most dramatic results after 3 months.

The body will continue to naturally process the injured fat cells for approximately four months after your procedure.

Cavitation

Ultrasonic or ultrasound cavitation is the use of ultrasound technology to break down fat cells below the skin. It is a non-surgical method of reducing cellulite and stubborn localised fat.

This procedure involves applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The body can then process the fat as waste through its lymphatic system.

The broken-down fat cells go from the body to the liver where they are processed and excreted as waste.

This method of treatment is maximised when used in conjunction with other weight loss treatments to help with getting rid of stubborn fat. It is a preferred method to other invasive procedures of eliminating body fat. It is important to note that your size could return to its previous state if you consume a high calorie diet.

Usually you can expect to see results of up to 20-50% reduction in the area treated.

How does it work?

Ultrasonic cavitation tones the body using radio frequencies and low-frequency ultrasonic waves. These waves form bubbles around fat deposits under the skin. The bubbles then burst, breaking the fat deposits into the interstitial and the lymphatic systems where they are drained. The fat deposits are changed into glycerol and surplus fatty acids. Glycerol is then reused by the body whilst the surplus fatty acids travel to the liver and are excreted as waste.

There is no downtime post treatment and the results will progressively reveal during the next 2-6 weeks.

Body Radio Frequency

Radio frequency (RF) body contouring treatment is fantastic for skin tightening after fat reduction treatment (such as Cavitation or Cryolipolysis) or natural weight loss. Body RF is a nonsurgical procedure, RF is a non-invasive treatment which allows you to target those stubborn areas of loose skin.

Body RF is a rejuvenation treatment and focused on providing you with a smoother body, tightening up loose skin areas.

Post pregnancy or after significant weight loss, loose skin can remain. RF is a highly popular treatment which is very effective in tightening sagging skin.

How does it work?

With the aging process, elastin proteins and collagen begins to deplete, which causes wrinkles, fine lines as well as a sagging skin. RF sends radio waves to selectively target and heat the deep layer of your skin which stimulates the fibroblast cells to contract and produce new elastin and collagen fibres. RF acts as ultrasonic massage which is also clinically proven to decrease cellulites appearance. The result is a smoother, younger looking and tighter skin.

There is no downtime post treatment and the results will progressively reveal during the next 2-6 weeks.

Laser Lipolysis

Laser lipolysis is a non-invasive form of body sculpting. It removes small fat deposits. Like surgical liposuction, this procedure permanently removes fat cells from your body. It’s much less painful than liposuction and laser lipolysis recovery is also shorter and far less complicated. It also comes with a lower risk of loose skin afterward.

Laser lipolysis differs from traditional liposuction, which is considered major surgery and often requires general anaesthetic. With surgical lipo, the surgeon inserts instruments into a layer of fat and uses a tube to break up fat cells and suction them out. Recovery can take months‌.

How does it work?

Laser lipolysis takes around half an hour, and you can return to normal activities straight away. There is no anaesthetic involved as this treatment is painless!

To carry out the procedure, your practitioner attaches paddle-like applicators to the area to be treated. The paddles emit laser pulses that penetrate your skin and heats up the subcutaneous fat cells underneath. The heat damages the membranes of the fat cells, so that they start to break down and perish. Your body then absorbs the dead cells via the lymphatic system where it is then drained. The fat deposits are changed into glycerol and surplus fatty acids. Glycerol is then reused by the body whilst the surplus fatty acids travel to the liver and are excreted as waste.

The full treatment period is approximately six weeks, you should have noticeable sculpting in the area that has been treated. Most people need more than one treatment for optimal results dependant on the mass required to be removed.

There is no downtime post treatment and the results will progressively reveal during the next 2-6 weeks.
