Reviews
“Tracy & Helen created a beautiful space where I just felt instantly relaxed. The whole weekend was so nourishing, I feel like a new woman.”
Location & Venue
The Lake District has been awarded Unesco World Heritage status, in recognition of its beauty and breath-taking landscape, and is home to England’s largest natural lake – Windermere – and its highest mountain – Scafell Pike.
Ambleside is on the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park. It’s a charming town with pubs, bars, fabulous restaurants and independent shops.
We will stay at Brathay Hall, situated in 360 acres of woodland right on the shores of the lake. It’s a peaceful and idyllic spot with stunning views of Lake Windermere.
Here you have space to reconnect with yourself as well as with nature and the chance to soak up amazing mountain and lake views.
Classes & Sessions
There will be 4 yoga classes with Helen over the course of the weekend.
These will include many styles of Yoga with one session being a beautiful candle lit yin session with Reiki healing. And of course, we always end our sessions with a beautiful meditation. Where we can, we will practice on the lawn overlooking the lake. Weather dependant of course.
Our morning sessions are a mixture of somatics, yoga movement and qi gung with plenty of uplifting breathwork to make you feel spacious and energised. Hopefully some sessions being outdoors.
All classes will be fun and enjoyable with the focus being on the mat and within, and never on your neighbour.
Reiki healing
Individual reiki healing sessions will be available throughout the weekend (bookable and payable locally).
Providing you with an opportunity to explore where imbalances lie within the body. Any imbalances will be corrected, and you will learn how to keep your chakra system open and aligned.
Suitability
Classes: You don’t need to be familiar with yoga as clear guidance is given with optional postures to suit all capabilities during each class. We always use props such as bolsters and blankets for support where necessary.
The Guided Walk: The walk takes around an hour to ninety minutes. With time for sitting and taking in the view. Of course, to find the view, it means there’s an up hill element.
Suitable footwear will be needed but a high level of fitness is not required. And of course, suncream.
Wild Swimming
With direct access to Lake Windermere, we will be facilitating a “wild swim”. We hope the weather is kind to us, with the lake being not too cold and hopefully some sunshine, but the swim for yourself could include something as simple as water gazing and enjoying the view.
The agenda for the weekend is optional, with the invitation to join in with as little or as much as you wish. All we ask is that you do what serves you best.
Room Choices
All bedrooms are ensuite. All rooms overlook the grounds, Lake Windermere, the woods, or towards the fells that sit as an impressive backdrop.
All rooms have:
- Free wifi
- A flat screen TV
- A fridge
- Tea & coffee making facilities
Superior rooms in the Scafell Lodges offer views across the estate to the Lakeland fells and boast luxurious ensuite rooms with a lounge area & a flat screen TV.
With full-height windows and modern interiors, they offer a light and airy space to relax and soak in the stunning views (upgrade costs apply).
The single ensuites provide your own private space to retreat to at the end of the day.
Meals
On both mornings breakfast is a continental buffet with plenty of fresh coffee and fruit juices.
Lunch is also provided on Saturday.
We’ll be having these meals in a lovely glass-fronted dining area with views overlooking the lake.
Evening meals are quite the delight.
We use an external caterer for a slumber party style buffet and on one of the evenings we take our guests out to a local restaurant for a slap-up dinner.
All the food and soft drinks are included in your stay. Should you wish to enjoy a glass of wine there is a bar at the venue which will be open in the evenings – the lawn has picnic tables to enjoy the views of the lake.
